Fresh from the success of Ko, Jiiva is returning to the screens with his action adventure Rowthiram. On heels with Jiiva’s routine of engaging newcomers, Rowthiram is directed by debut director Gokul. Based on the industry buzz, the movie is likely to be an action venture with the right amount of masala thrown in to appease the mass audience.
Rowthiram has Shriya playing Jiiva’s female lead. Shriya’s career in Tamil is in desperate need of rehabilitation and this seems to be her only release in Tamil at this time. Her Bollywood career has never really taken off. Other than Shriya, Rowthiram has Prakash Raj, Jayaprakash and Ganesh Acharya playing significant roles.
Rowthiram is made in a minimum budget and was shot in and around Tamil Nadu. Major portions were filmed in a village called Villianur, near Villupuram. Since Rowthiram is being released after the successful Ko, expectations are riding high among the fans and the producers about the movie’s standards.
This is produced by Jiiva’s father R. B. Choudhery for their own Super Good Films banner. Also being released in Telugu under the same name, Rowthiram is releasing in the long weekend of August 12th.
