Prashanth is all set to make his comeback with Ponnar Shankar written by Kalaignar. The film is a historical epic based on the true story of the famous twins, Ponnar and Shankar from the Kongu region. Ponnar Shankar has a strong supporting cast with the likes of Napoleon, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Vadivelu, and Riyaz Khan bringing on their A game. Kushboo has a powerful role as does Sneha, who will play the sister of the twins, Arukkani. Sneha says that the role has been beautifully etched and will win her laurels. She worked with Prashanth in her first film, Virumbigiren and is happy that they have worked together again. Looks like the fabulous cast is sure to set the screen on fire with their acting gravitas.

Ilaiyaraja has done the music. The audio release was held on 27^th March and the music left the crowd gasping in wonder. The maestro is in fine fettle and has created a masterpiece that has impressed studio heads even in Bollywood who wished to know if they could acquire dubbing rights in Hindi!

The film is all set for release on April 09^th. It has been in the making for two years as the makers were insistent on pure perfection. Ponnar Shankar is touted as one of the films that will definitely create a big impact with the audience. There is little doubt that this film will be HUGE!
