Few
years back, film financier Ambalal had loaned
Bhagyaraj money. Since he has not returned
the same, Ambalal had moved the court to
declare Bhagyaraj and his wife Poornima
as insolvent.
The court has given two weeks of time
for Bhagyaraj to return the money.
This loan was incurred by him while
producing films like Gnana Pazham
and Vettiyai Madichu Kattu. Recently
relatives of Bhagyaraj had produced
Paarijatham under the banner of Smrithis.
But this film also did not yield rich
dividends for him.
During the audio launch of Paarijatham,
superstar Rajnikanth had graced the
occasion. While talking about Bhagyaraj,
he had said, “Bhagyaraj had
requested me to appear in a guest
role in Vettiyai Madichu Kattu. But
due to call sheet problems, I could
not heed to his request.
But
when there was a financial issue regarding
the release of the film, I had offered to
help, but he declined”. Considering
the present conditions of the veteran director
Bhagyaraj and recalling Rajni’s comment,
the question on everybody’s mind is
‘Will Rajni offer to bail Bhagyaraj
out of his situation now?”
