Latest buzz on Sivaji is that the movie – after being showcased for the censor officers at AVM – managed to get a U certification from the censor board. It has always been a trend in the film industry that movies to be censored will be screened for preview in theatres. But with Sivaji evoking huge expectations, its fate under the scissors had also drawn attention from all quarters.

An issue that was nagging Rajini, director Shankar and the AVM Productions was the song leak out even before the audio release. The team was also concerned about the movie clips being pirated prior to its release. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, AVM has obtained a special permission to showcase the movie to the censor officers at their place.
