Politics seem to be running uppermost in Vijayakanth's
mind these days. Even a comment about a movie
is evoking strong political reaction. When
reporters wanted to know whether he had seen
the movie Periyar, he was prompt enough to
launch an attack on the TN Chief Minister.

|
Vijayakanth wondered how the CM, a close associate of
Periyar, who had seen the movie for six or seven times
allowed it to be released with so many blatant flaws.
He claimed that many important aspects of Periyar's life
were missing in the movie in addition to erroneous facts.
With his high-flying political career, one wonders if
he would ever find time to act once again. When this question
was hurled at him, pat came the reply that he may soon
be donning the greasepaint for a movie. The movie will
commence next month and two titles have been registered
— MGR and Karuppu MGR. And that is not all. His
next venture would be for Kanakarathna Movies.
Vijayakanth is trying to get the best of both worlds.
