Billa 2007 has proposed to shoot major portion
of the film in Malaysia. But unfortunately
the concessions that are generally being offered
to Indian films have been withdrawn recently.
Generally, it has been said that shooting
in Malaysia and Singapore works out more economical
when compared to shooting within India.

More over, when permission is obtained to shoot at a specific
spot, it holds good for anywhere within the country. These
factors seem to tilt the scale in favor of filming in
these countries. Malaysia and Singapore proved to be a
haven for small budgeted film makers who cannot afford
to shoot in America, Europe and Australia.
Regrettably, these concessions have been dropped recently
stating that such waivers are proving to be very costly
for these nations. According to K R G, President of South
Indian Film Council, though Malaysian government officials
have offered many such concessions orally when they were
in Chennai, no written communiqué have been received
from them till date. He also added that there is no response
from them to a letter sent by the film council here. Meanwhile
the unit of Billa 2007, Sathyaraj starrer Kannamoochi
Yenada and Sarthkumar starrer 1977 are hopeful and confident
on receiving a positive response from the Malaysian government.
