History created in a small
town :
Little Rock, AR, USA is a small city and home town of
the former president Bill Clinton. The number of Tamil
families here is less than hundred. The only way for them
to see Tamil movies is either they have to go to Dallas;
a five hours drive or wait for one month so the movie
comes in a local theater for just one show.
But the history is changing. First time the distributors
managed to bring Sivaji within 3 days from the date of
release. "The response is huge and it is triple than
a usual one. Some people want to see the movie two times
at a stretch - continuously" said Mr. Ulaganathan
a local distributor for Tamil movies. "First time
we went online. People from neighboring states like Texas,
Missouri and Tennessee were also buying tickets because
the shows in their states were houseful" he adds.
"For the first time we are issuing Photo
Ticket. The ticket for this movie is custom designed with
Sivaji stills on it, like we used to get in Satyam, Mayajal
theaters in India. This is the first time we designed
and printed our own posters with theater, time and price
details on it. And for the first time we were covered
by several media. Everything thrills us" he said.
Sivaji opens in 24 theatres across the US this week, adding
19 more in the next couple of weeks. Sivaji not only creates
waves within fans, but also excites the distributors with
stunning responses. For sure Sivaji – The History.
Regards,
Rajkumar and Swaminathan from Little Rock
