Rajini’s Fathers Day
gift :
Mequon, WI June 17th, 2007
"What better gift can you give your Father on
Fathers Day than get a message from a Man who Listens
to his Father and becomes the Bachelor of Social Service
for his motherland" this was our ad campaign to
our Tamil Sangam Members in the last two weeks said
Swami Shanker,Vice President of Greater Milwaukee Tamil
Sangam and an ardent supporter of Rajini, who migrated
to the US 19 years ago. This coupled with the articles
on the web and the craze from three generations of Rajini
fans in Milwaukee propelled people to the screening
of the movie in Milwaukee on Fathers Day. No other Tamil
movie screened in Milwaukee in the last 19 years witnessed
interests of this proportions.
They were Doctors, Professors, Senior Citizens, Business
, Software Professionals, Business Owners and students
who are working their way up to become professionals.
Most of the well settled drive Mercedez, BMW and Toyota.
Whistles, Dances and Grafftiti, US style that is what
they do when they see him on the screen....Rajini makes
them do it. They may have come to the US decades ago
but they have not forgotten their matinee idol. They
created time on Fathers day and had a chance to listen
to the Superstar and celebrate his 100th movie in the
theater. The young and the not so young all came with
their families and it was time to celebrate Fathers
Day in style.
Off late Rajinis super hit movies has a theme in the
story touching America, either it be Padayappa, Chandramukhi
or Sivaji. Rajini is a magnet that brings out people
even in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Rajini had two messages in this movie:
One for the NRI"s....come back to India and do
good for the country that gave it to you
Second message was for the business and political world,
draw black money out and pay your dues the country will
prosper.
Vivek did a fantastic job of providing the vitamin for
laughter and the songs were filmed with very colorful
taste.
For three hours we were not in Milwaukee, he brought
us back home to Tamilnadu and reminded us what we should
do, not just make money but to give to the needy back
home.
True Transformation.....Rajini Style.
Thank You BOSS we got the message.
