At a press meet for Mayakkam Enna, Selvaraghavan promised that he will never sing again. Laughingly, the director said that he himself can't bear to hear himself and he does not want to torment the fans. GV Prakash piped in and said that Selva's voice suited the situation of the song in Mayakkam Enna and he is also sure the audience would agree.
About the lyrics penned by Dhanush, the actor revealed that there was a 25 minute break between scenes and Selva told him to give it a shot. Dhanush wrote the lyrics for two songs then and there and after a few corrections it was declared perfect. It has to be a record of sorts for a brand new lyricist!
