While addressing the media at a recently held press conference by the producers of Maattrraan, AGS Entertainment, director K.V. Anand said, that unlike Suriya, many Hollywood stars avoid being a part of the motion capture process because once their reactions are recorded, it can be used over and over again without their consent.
It was stated that this technique became a possibility because of Suriya’s co-operation where he provided nearly 22 reactions required for the character. These facial reactions were then tactfully superimposed over a body double seamlessly.
He also used the opportunity to clear the air on the trimmed version of the film. He revealed that only 10 minutes on the whole was chopped off from the entire film. Portions of the climax and the chase in Latvia had been made shorter to make the film racier.
