Eega and Naan Ee met with blockbuster success in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu respectively and the movie recently completed 100 days at the box-office, which is a rare feat in current times. But, the Hindi version of the movie titled Makkhi hasn't been able to repeat the charm.
Makkhi opened this past Friday and the first weekend has netted just around 2 crores. The word of mouth has been good but this has not registered into good box-office performance. There was a lot of competition from other new releases like Aiyaa, Bhoot Returns and also from previous weeks' winners like English Vinglish and Oh My God.
But, given all the favorable talk about Makkhi from Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgn, it seems only a matter of time before this hotshot director bags a straight Bollywood film.
