There is often a debate as to why only the heroes should experiment with their appearances and why not the leading ladies. We have seen top heroes taking up a big task to gain and lose weight for a character and experimenting with different hairstyles too. But in the case of actresses it’s almost a rarity.
The last time we saw someone do it was when Lakshmi Ramakrishnan boldly tonsured her head for Mysskin’s Yudham Sei. But a little birdie tells us that Nadhiya was the one who was initially cast in that role but as soon as she learned the fact that she will be required to shave her head she immediately opted out of the role.
It seems it was a similar story during the making of the Malayalam film Doubles where she shared the screen with Mamooty. The role apparently required her to lose a few pounds but the actress expressed her concern that losing weight will affect the beauty on her face. The director had no choice but to oblige and rework the script accordingly.
