Following a lot of feedback about the film being very long and dragging towards the climax, the Maattrraan team has drastically trimmed down their movie by as much as 20 minutes. This is an effort to make the film more slick and racy, to appeal to a larger section of the audience.
1 min 23 sec of the first half has been trimmed while 19 mins 30 sec of the second half has been chopped. Few fans who have seen the trimmed version of Maattrraan have opined that the movie is more racy and entertaining now.
Meanwhile, the first day collection from Tamil Nadu is rumored to be 6.32 crores nett, from around 550 screens here. If this is true, then this is lesser than Suriya's previous release 7aum Arivu. Will the trimmed version boost the fortunes of the movie? Have to wait and watch.
