Lakshmi Rai was seen playing support roles in a number of big films like the recent Thaandavam and Mankatha in 2011. She made a mark even if these roles were minuscule in terms of screen time. But, the pretty lady has a small regret about not playing the main heroine role in her films apart from the blockbuster Kanchana in which she was paired opposite Lawrence.
Meanwhile, in Kannada, which is also her mother tongue, she is being welcomed with open arms as the lead heroine and she is getting many offers including the Kannada remake of Kanchana named Kalpana. Following this, she has decided to do more such main lead roles in the Kannada industry. It's a sort of homecoming for the Bangalore lass.
