Veteran choreographer, Salim passed away today after a prolonged illness. The dance master holds the distinction of choreographing the dance movements for the two stalwarts of Tamil cinema – Sivaji Ganesan and MG Ramanchandran – at the same location in Kashmir but for two different films.
He also holds another merit of choreographing for the three Chief Ministers – MG Ramachandran, J Jayalalitha and NT Rama Rao. Salim was survived by wife and two children. His offspring are currently in the US and are arriving for the last rites. Salim’s wife was in Calicut when his end came. The dance master was surrounded by the members of the Dance Masters’ Union when he was battling for life. May his soul rest in peace.
