Thol Thirumavalavan, in a letter addressed
to the Tamil Nadu government, has said
that the title Ochayee is a pure Tamil
word and is derived from Goddess Ochayee
Amman, who is worshipped as their family
deity by the people of Theni and Guntakal
districts.
He has penned the letter following reports
that the Tamil Nadu Government is not
considering the film for entertainment
tax sops as Ochayee is not a Tamil word.
Thol Thirumavalavan also pointed out
this Goddess is instrumental in bringing
good fortune to her worshippers by wiping
away their problems.
The politician said that this film should,
therefore, be considered for entertainment
tax rebate.
