It is heard that Kamal Haasan himself insisted on a U/A certificate for his upcoming magnum opus Vishwaroopam. He believes that the film, dealing with terrorism, requires a certain level of intelligence and maturity to understand and appreciate.
The film is not suited for everyone and it demands a certain amount of knowledge about world affairs on the viewer’s part, Kamal feels.
This rules out the film from the entertainment tax exemption but Kamal wants to stay true to the film's theme and doesn’t want to dilute his film’s content just to escape the 30% tax. Kamal has again proved his passion for films beyond just seeing it as a revenue generating platform.
