Behindwoods reported yesterday that National Award winning director Seenu Ramasamy went on a fast in protest of the Tamil Nadu Government’s decision to not award tax exemption for his upcoming film ‘Neerparavai’ despite achieving a clean ‘U’ certification.
The producers Red Giant Movies decided to fight the Government’s decision and approached the Madras High Court. After a day of dramatic developments, the court finally gave the verdict in favor of ‘Neerparavai’, much to the delight of the filmmakers who are planning to release the film for Deepavali.
Red Giant Movies’ head Udhayanidhi Stalin expressed his happiness on his micro-blogging site last night. But his appeals at the High Court aren’t over just yet, as he had filed a similar petition in the case of OKOK and is still awaiting the judgment on that.
