Post Enthiran, Rajinikanth started working on KS Ravikumar’s Rana. But, even before much was done, the superstar became unwell and had to leave to Singapore for further treatment. The film was later shelved after Rajinikanth asked KS Ravikumar to come up with a simpler script, which could act as a prequel to Rana.
KS Ravikumar narrated him the story of Kochadaiyaan and the actor immediately agreed to the script. Later Kochadaiyaan was decided to be made using 3D motion capture technology, which resulted in bringing Soundarya R Ashwin, a professional in the field of animation, onboard as the director. KS Ravikumar wished to remain the screenplay, story and dialogue writer of the film.
Recently, the ace director, who is presently busy with the Hindi remake of Saamy, has divulged that if he gets to do a film with Rajinikanth in the future, he will do it only in 3D. Will it be Rana? Time will answer the query.
