Of the many hats that Kamal Haasan wears, being a lyricist might be his most subdued skill-set of all. That’s not to undermine his way with words but just a reflection of his towering prowess in the other departments of film-making and performing arts.
Kamal, not one to be confined by geographical and cultural borders, will be contributing lyrics to an Assameese – Tamil song composed by Joi Barua.
Speaking to the press, Kamal confirmed his role in the song and said that he penned the words for Shruti as a gift for his birthday which arrives in a couple of days. The Assameese lyrics have been written by composer Joi Barua himself. Apparently the music director wanted a song and a singer that breached all regional boundaries and hence decided to infuse a Tamil section in the song and chose Shruti Haasan to sing it as she possesses a strong command over the language.
