The President of the South India Digital Music Management Private Limited (SIDMM), Sudha Raghunathan, has warned that legal action will be taken against those who download music to mobile phones without proper permission. In a press statement issues by the SIDMM, which is an association formed by music producers and musicians, it has been stated that it is an offence to download the songs without proper permission. Also, the press statement makes it clear that the companies downloading songs to mobile phones should obtain the CELL MUZIK rights from SIDMM before the downloads, failing legal action will be initiated.
SIDMM comprises of Agi Music, which has the music rights of Ilayaraja songs, Mass, 5-Star, Star Music and several other music companies.
