Cricketer Muthiah Muralidharan and actor Ajay Rathnam pledged to donate their eyes at the Rotary Eye Bank meet in Chennai. This event was held under the aegis of Rajan Eye Care Hospital’s Chairman and Medical Director Mohan Rajan. English cricketer Owais Shah also participated in this event.
Speaking at this occasion, Muralidharan said, “This is a wonderful and worthy cause. We have to realise nothing happens while one's eyes get donated after one's lifetime. In fact, it would only help someone see the world with our eyes.”
Shah said that he would encourage everyone around him to donate their eyes and spread the message on eye donation.
This event was certainly an eye opener for many who were not aware of eye donation.
