STR's latest release Vaanam might have received a lot of praise but it has irked the political party BJP as some scenes in the movie are supposed to have hurt Hindus and their sentiments. As a backlash to this, the BJP workers put a garland made of slippers around STR's cut out outside Tambaram MR theater. Angered by this his fans have got together this morning and protestested outside BJP's head office in T Nagar.
Things worsened and the police had to intervene and over 50 of STR's protesting fans were arrested. This is not the first case of fans and political parties over reacting to things. We hope the issue gets resolved soon and things come to a peaceful end.
