The Producers’ Council, in an action committee meeting that was held on 19th and 21st March decided that no new films will go on floor until April 30th. Only the films that have already started shooting will be allowed to continue.
On May 2, the newly formed Tamil Thiraipada Thozhilalargal Sangam will be launched. The films that are shooting now will have to switch over to the new unions’ services from May 2nd. Similarly, the new films that are yet to go on floor can start their shoot after the launch of the new union.
The Producer Council has also said that, any producer not abiding by this new rule would have to undergo serious consequences under the section 14 of Producers’ Council.
