The shooting of Alex Pandian, starring Karthi and Santhanam has been going on in full swing near Meenambakkam and apparently director Ameer has applied a break to the shooting. According to sources, the director was angry that the production house of Alex Pandian, Studio Green has released his Paruthiveeran in Telugu without settling his royalty.
Hearing that the shooting has been in trouble, a team including Thyagarajan, Thenappan, Swaminathan and Muralidharan from Producer’s Council had rushed to the spot. An aggrieved Gnanvelraja of Studio Green told Behindwoods that the crew members of camera and lights team had expressed their inability to cooperate with the shooting citing the FEFSI strike. He says, “I came to know that it is director Ameer who is behind the issue. While we have taken all the required permission to shoot yesterday (the second Sunday of the month), the crew did not attend the shoot saying that they have to be at a meeting at the FEFSI. Today also the shooting got affected. Last week also a similar incident happened and the shoot got cancelled. Now I smell foul play by Ameer.” Gnanvel is upset that while Alex Panidan’s shoot has been stopped, other films continue to progress smoothly. While Gnanavel is incurring loss due to the loss of shoot days on one end, on the other end, he is worried that he may not be able to get the call sheets of Karthi and Santhanam together as required as both the actors are extremely busy.
It has to be noted that earlier Ameer has filed a complaint with the Commissioner of Police to stop the screening of his film Paruthiveeran in Telugu.Another case involving the cost of film-making of the same film is pending in the court.
