The National awards were announced and AR Murugadoss offered his congratulations to the winners. Films like Vaagai Sooda Va, Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai and Aaranya Kaandam picked up awards in various categories and did Tamil cinema proud.
Murugadoss was full of praise for the winners but he confessed in an update in the micro-blogging site that he was disappointed because his film, Engeyum Eppothum failed to take the top honors. This film which he produced in association with Fox Studios and starring Jai, Anjali, Sarwanand and Ananya came in for a lot of critical acclaim and was also appreciated by the audience.
