It was anticipated that comedian Vadivelu would join the DMK and contest the state legislative assembly elections this time more so because of his tiff with the DMDK’s founder Vijayakanth. Vadivelu had remained in the backdrop and with the DMK releasing its candidate list there is no possibility of him contesting the elections now.
However, the actor’s visit to the DMK Chief’s residence in Chennai yesterday had evoked a lot of surprise. Soon after meeting M Karunanidhi, Vadivelu addressed the press persons stationed there and said that he would campaign vigorously for DMK’s victory.
Deputy CM Stalin, Union Ministers Dayanidhi Maran and Alagiri were also present during this meeting.
