The DMK candidate for Thousand Lights, Hasan Mohammed Jinnah met Rajinikanth at his residence in Chennai to seek his well wishes. Jinnah was accompanied by the Mayor of Chennai M Subramaniam during this meet in which the Superstar presented a silk shawl to Jinnah and wished him luck for winning the elections.
Jinnah’s meeting with Rajini assumes a lot of significance as Rajini's fans were wondering which party their idol would support during the current polls. However, Rajini has remained tightlipped till now and has not pledged his support to any of the political parties in fray.
Earlier there were reports that Kushboo would contest from this Stalin’s stronghold when he decided to shift to Kolathur constituency, but finally it fell into Jinnah’s hands. Kushboo is not contesting the elections this time but is actively involved in campaigning.
