The Akila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi headed by actor, Sarath Kumar has been allotted two seats by the AIADMK party chief, Jayalalitha. A few days ago the actor successfully united a number of Nadar community organizations under a common banner, Perunthalaivar Makkal Katchi and they will be contesting the elections under the name, Samathuva Makkal Katchi. Sarath Kumar with the leaders of this community met with Jayalalitha on Thursday at her residence in Poes Garden and sealed the deal.
Mr. Sarath Kumar speaking to reporters stated that at this point he did not really care about the number of seats assigned to his party when asked if he had demanded 7 seats. He said his sole aim is to bring down the corrupt DMK regime. He also said that having successfully brought the Nadar community together he will ensure that the community will once again have a major role to play in state politics. The two constituencies he will be representing and the election symbols will be decided upon later.
