Ilaiyaraja and Mani Ratnam were born on the 2nd of June in 1943 and 1956 respectively. Ilaiyaraja is 69 now and Mani is 56 years old now. The former is working on Gautham Menon's Neethane En Ponvasantham and Maranthein Manninthein starring Aadhi, Taapsee and Lakshmi Manchu currently. In honor of the occasion Gautham is launching a special audio of NEP today. Mani is working on Kadal with Gautham and Samantha.
Both the giants of the Tamil film industry are planning to celebrate quietly with their families. Ilayarja’s children Karthik Raja, Yuan Shankar Raja and Bavatharini are releasing a website dedicated to music today as a honour to the musical legend. Though Yuvan has got stuck in Mumabi due to his work commitments, he has wished his father and updated in a micro-blogging site, “Happy birthday to music.”
