Ravi K Chandran handled the cinematography in Amitabh Bachchan's film, Black, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film was a blockbuster, and shortly after its release, at an event to celebrate its success, Amitabh personally thanked everyone who had been a part of the project. At that time, he forgot to mention Ravi K Chandran, whose work on the film was simply amazing.
Later, when Big B, realized his lapse, he wrote to Ravi K Chandran, to apologize and to congratulate him for his superb work. He sent some expensive imported chocolates as well with the letter. This gesture of humility and gratitude on the part of the superstar touched Ravi K Chandran deeply and he had the letter framed and displays it prominently in his house to this day.
