In an interesting development, Vijay said that he is very fond of villain characters. He revealed that he enjoyed doing Priyamudan, where his character had definite shades of grey. His character dies in that movie and apparently his mother was very upset when she watched it and begged him not to do such roles. Out of consideration for her feelings he did not accept any more negative roles though there were plenty that came his way.
In Azhagiya Tamizh Magan, Vijay once again played a negative character who reforms in the end. Vijay said he would love to do similar roles and may just consider them in future. We suggest that filmmakers get busy writing a script for Vijay where he is a deliciously wicked guy but somehow escapes death in the climax scene.
