The elections for Tamil Film Directors Association is to happen on the 19th of this month. Bharathiraja will be contesting for a second tenure and Ameer will stand against him. The elections happen every two years and the Association has about 2100 members. It is going to be a tight race with the new guard challenging the old guard.
In Bharathiraja's corner, Selvamani will try to get re-elected as Secretary and Ezhil will attempt to take the Treasurer's post. Ameer's team will have Cheran standing for Secretary and Jananadhan will take on Ezhil. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Murugadoss, Vasanthabalan, Venkatesh, Balasekaran and Prabhu Solomon will support Ameer.
Interestingly Ameer and Cheran are slotted to work with Bharathiraja in his next film Appan Atha as the leading men.
