After a prolonged struggle with his health in recent times, superstar Rajesh Khanna passed away today. His son-in-law Akshay Kumar has rushed back to Mumbai after cancelling his shoots.
The actor is 69 and he was admitted recently citing exhaustion and weakness. He is fondly called Kaka and has a legion of fans worldwide. He breathed his last at his residence Aashirwad, in the presence of his wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Rinkie and Twinkle, son-in-law Akshay Kumar, grand children and close relatives.
He was popularly hailed as India’s first superstar after 15 consecutive solo super-hits between 1969 and 1972 including ‘Aradhana‘, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi‘, ‘Anand‘ and ‘Amar Prem‘. He was recently seen in his first television ad as well.
Superstar Rajinikanth in his condolence message said “My heart felt condolences to the legendary star Mr.Rajesh Khanna. I pray to the almighty to rest his soul in peace”
