In 1913, during the British Rule, a Government primary school was started in Kavipuram, Bangalore. This school used to have thousands of students studying there. With those children was a student named Shivaji Rao, who today is lovably called Superstar Rajinikanth.
The school which was very famous till a few years back, has only got 300 and odd students today, due to its lack of facilities. But the school is all set to be renovated into a hi-tech, multi specialty school, thanks to the Karnataka state Rajini Seva Samiti. After a long struggle, the Rajini Seva Samiti has made the Karnataka Government to accept to renovate the school. A massive sum of Rs 81.4 lacs have been allotted by the state for making the face lift.
