Cocktail opened yesterday to mixed reviews but the opening at multiplexes has been excellent. In upmarket centers, it rivals some of the earlier multiplex blockbusters in recent years. The single screen release was limited so collection at mass centers was low as expected.
But, on the strength of the business in multiplex dominated circuits, Cocktail is looking at a first day net collection of between 9.5 to 10 crores. Bol Bachchan was affected on its second Friday thanks to Cocktail, that too at multiplexes. Still, single screens were good for the Rohit Shetty movie and the second Friday netted 3.25 crores. Mass centers are very strong for Bol Bachchan and this weekend should see solid numbers there.
Seems like a fight between class and mass at the Hindi boxoffice.
