Veghan Rajesh who was seen on the big screen in 7G Rainbow Colony and Saroja is trying out a new format as an outlet for his creativity. This dancer/RJ (Suriyan FM)/VJ (Jaya TV) has directed two short films - Appavi and Saturday both of which have come in for a lot of praise.
Rajesh won the best screenplay writer award at the YFM Digital Short Film festival at Chennai in December 2010. Saturday came in third at the DBICA Short Film Festival 2011 held in Chennai. A premiere was held for these films recently and it was well attended. SPB Charan, Jawahar R Mithran, AR Raihanah, Aravind Akash, Fathima Babu, and Mala Manian were among those present. The audience were very appreciative of Rajesh and his work.
At the screening, the Chief Guest presented a cheque to the South Indian Film Artist Association Joint Committee member, Mr. Rajendran to help educate the children of junior artistes. As always it is nice to see fresh talent like Rajesh come up and when they help promote worthy causes it is even more heartwarming. Kudos!
