Director Bharathiraja made a powerful entrance into the Tamil cinema with 16 Vayathinile and since then has given several blockbusters. This talented director has recently been elected as the Chairman of the Directors’ Council.
Speaking at a function, Bharathiraja has said that he won six National awards so far but he doesn’t know where those awards are now. The director disclosed that he threw away those award trophies not wanting such things to get into his head and hamper his progress further. It may be mentioned here that Bharathiraja also declined his Padma Shri award.
