Four
short films, each of 12-minute duration, was
launched at the Four Frames Theatre in Chennai.
The four films were: Mira Nair-directed Migration,
Farhan Akthar’s Positive, Santosh Sivan-directed
Prarambh and Vishal Bharadwaj’s Blood
Brother. All the four films deal with AIDS affected
persons, sex workers and transgender.
Speaking at the launch of these short films,
Santosh Sivan said that the films are made
in Tamil so that it would reach the target
audience easily. He added that there are plans
to make these short films in Malayalam too.
All the four short films were made jointly
by Tamil Nadu AIDS Initiative (TAI) and Bill
& Melinda Gates Foundation.
Those who were present at the event were
Penny Richards, Avahan, Dr E S Krishnamurthy,
Hon. Secretary, Voluntary Health Services,
Dr R Lakshmibai, Project Director, TAI and
community members of the TAI project. |
