Sagaakkal is a film that has a very different
storyline, according to a press release.
The film revolves around a set of people
who are on a pilgrimage to Pazhani. How
a pair of lovers get into this group and
the interesting incidents that happen during
the pilgrimage form the rest of the story.
Sanjeev, the hero of Sagaakkal, has acted
in films like Kulir and Neeyum Naanum and
Keerthi his love-interest is a debutant.
About 5000 people were selected to play
paada yaatris in Sagaakkal and interestingly
all of them not only co-operated well but
also underwent fasting, says director SMK
Swamy, who dons the director’s robe
for the first time.
He adds that the artistes did not complain
even once about walking barefoot on the
tar road carrying Kavadi and piercing Vel
on their bodies.
