“I DO NOT WANT TO COMMENT ON MY ROLE”

If Cheran has reduced his weight and toned his body for the role of a cop in Yudham Sei, supporting actress Lakshmi, who has acted in a lot of movies including Eeram, has tonsured her head for her role in the movie. The bold move has created tremendous expectations in K-town. The actress is also doing important roles in forthcoming movies like Naan Mahaan Alla, Boss Engira Baskaran and Ponnar Shankar. Excerpts from an exclusive interview are below.

What is the reason for this move?

When Mysskin narrated the story to me, it excited me a lot. The role demanded that I go bald which is what I have done.

Considering our conservative society, don’t you think this is a very bold initiative?

Maybe it is. But it is the desire of every good actor to act in a role which he or she could be proud of in later years. This is one such role that was offered to me by Mysskin. In a way it is like a dream role which one could get only once in an acting career.

So does your character in the movie have a rough, negative side to it?

Well, I do not want to comment on my role in Yudham Sei. Mysskin is working tirelessly for directing this movie. So it would be like dousing fire with water if I reveal my character in this movie.

What other movies are you associated with?

I’m doing roles in the Karthi starrer Naan Mahaan Alla which is to release soon. I’m also a part of Boss Engira Baskaran and Ponnar Shankar.

The talented actress is also going to don the director's hat soon. Yes! It is confirmed that the trailer of this untitled movie is ready and Lakshmi is going to concentrate on direction after she completes her current assignments. Way to go Lakshmi!
