The
lucky winners of the Behindwoods.com Madarasapattinam
contest were shown the film at Four Frames Preview
Theatre in Chennai. It was evident after the
show that all those present thoroughly enjoyed
the film. Madarasapattinam’s director
Vijay, music director GV Prakash and actor Balaji
interacted with the audience soon after the
show. Team Behindwoods.com gave all three a
floral welcome.
To a question from the audience on why he chose
Arya to play the role, Vijay jocularly remarked
that it was Arya who chose him.
On how he chose Amy Jackson for the role, Vijay
said that she had won the Teen Miss World contest
and had sent in her details to him. He later
went to London to sign her up.
GV Prakash’s music for Madarasapattinam
was well-appreciated by the audience. Vijay
requested that GV Prakash should refrain from
working in the nights and opt for a working
time that would suit all involved in a film.
One of the audience said that he never got emotional
while watching a film, but this film had him
in tears. The director seemed thoroughly pleased
with this kind of response.
When Vijay questioned about how he managed to
bring in the old Madras so beautifully on screen,
he said that it was mainly due to computer graphics.
He added that cameraman Nirav Shah also played
a vital role in capturing the splendor of old
Madras.
In all, it was wonderful journey to old Madras,
which many of us never knew. |
