Kumki, directed by the Mynaa fame Prabhu Solomon, is about elephants. The film has Vikram Prabhu, son of actor Prabhu, in the lead role with Lakshmi Menon playing his love interest. In this film, Vikram Prabhu plays a mahout.
Prabhu Solomon has said that Kumki is based on several real-life incidents in which elephants create havoc by killing people or ruining the lands. The climax portions of this film are being shot and for this, a two-acre agricultural land has been purchased by the producer. Since the elephants will be shown destroying the agricultural lands, it was decided to acquire the land for shooting this scene.
