Despite losing the Golden Globe by a whisker, AR Rahman has been nominated for the coveted British Academy of Films and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for his original score in 127 Hours. The song was nominated for the Golden Globe but eventually it eluded him.
For the BAFTA this year, AR Rahman will be competing with Danny Elfman (Alice in Wonderland), John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon), Hans Zimmer (Inception) and Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech).
Rahman had earlier won the BAFTA for his original score in the Danny Boyle-directed Slumdog Millionaire.
