The Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners’ Association has announced that the theatres have been permitted to screen one extra show from January 15th to 21st to tackle the Pongal rush. Following this announcement, the theatres will be allowed to screen five shows on these days.
Likewise, the mobile theatres have been permitted to screen matinee shows from January 18th to 21st and morning shows from January 15 to 17th.
As per a statement from the Tamil Nadu government, the concerned theatres must inform the collectors in their districts and the entertainment tax officials about the special shows.
