The inspiration for Suriya’s role in Raktha Charithram, Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy alias Maddelachervu Suri, has been shot dead by his close associate. The news has naturally shocked the film’s director Ram Gopal Varma as he had been interacting with the gangster-politician to etch out Suriya’s role to perfection in RC.
Suri was the main accused in the murder of TDP leader Paritala Ravi and was languishing in prison when RGV first met him. The director, while condoling Suri’s death, recalled that he was happy over the way his character was shaped up in RC.
