Siruthai has been awarded with a U/A certificate by the Censor Board. The film, which stars Karthi and Tamannah as the lead pair, will be released this Pongal and the expectations for this film is too high as it has the successful on-screen pair and is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Vikaramarkudu.
Director Siva has said that it will not be an exact replica of Vikaramarkudu but he has made some changes to suit the Tamil audience. Further, the director has stated that the Telugu version had a lot of violence and glamour which has been cut down in Siruthai.
