Moser Baer’s G Dhananjayan began the uphill task of compiling a book that comprises 1000 best films that boast of commercial success thus far. His book, The Best of Tamil Cinema, is made into two volumes. The first part lists movies released from 1931 to 1976 and the second part from 1977 to 2010.
The book is a treasure of information for all the movie buffs out there. According to Dhananjayan, compiling the first part was not an easy task as there was barely any info available on the commercial success of some of the films released then.
