Director Venkat Prabhu has clarified once again that Mankatha shooting has not been stalled and the movie will be released on May 1st as planned. To a query on why Nagarjuna was replaced, the director said that the star was required to undergo a get-up change and the actor conveyed his inability to do so until March 2011. This had forced the team to look for a suitable replacement and Arjun fitted the bill perfectly, Venkat clarifies.
The director also said that the film is progressing as per the schedule but there was a change in the schedule due to the rains.
