Noted director Gautham Menon celebrates his birthday today. Responsible for ushering in fresh urban realism in Tamil cinema and treading unexplored territories, Gautham is considered to be one of the prominent directors of today's times. His Vaaranam Aayiram won the National Award. Other than direction, Gautham also runs a production company called Photon Kathas.
Many of Gautham's movies have been remade / dubbed into other regional languages and Hindi. Gautham's second venture in Hindi Ekk Deewana Tha, the remake of his smash hit in Tamil Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, recently released with Prathik Babbar and Amy Jackson in the lead.
